1.   Barrel Racing

Time Limit: Each rider is given one run to complete the course. The goal is to complete the cloverleaf pattern as fast as possible.

Start: The rider starts at the designated starting line. Timing starts when the horse crosses the line.

Stop: Timing stops when the horse crosses the finish line after completing the pattern.

Knocking Over Barrels: A 5-second penalty is added for each barrel knocked over.

Wrong Pattern: If the rider fails to complete the cloverleaf pattern, they are disqualified.

Breaking the Start Line: If the rider or horse crosses the start line before the official signal, the run is disqualified.

There will be a 60/40 payout for this event. Which will be placed in a 4D format.

Each person is permitted to run one horse in a performance until each performance is full which will then run into slack where riders can run multiple horses.

2.      Breakaway Roping

Start: The rider must be in the roping box when the calf is released from the chute when the rider nods. Timing begins as soon as the barrier breaks which is stretched across the roping box.

End: Timing stops once the rider ropes the calf and the rope “breaks away,” meaning the rope comes off the saddle horn. The rider must not touch the rope to prevent it from coming off the horn.

Time Limit: Time limit for breakaway roping is 30 seconds.

Clean Run: A clean run is one where the rider catches the calf with a legal loop and the rope breaks away cleanly.

The rider must rope the calf in one of the following ways:

Head Catch: The loop must land around the calf’s head.

Legal Catch: If the loop lands around the neck or horns of the calf, it is considered a legal catch.

The rider does not need to dismount or throw the rope manually after catching the calf. The rope must break free from the saddle horn when the catch is made.

No Catch: If the rider fails to catch the calf within the allowed time, it is a no-time.

Illegal Catch: If the rope catches the calf in an illegal manner, such as around the legs, the rider may be penalized.
Dropped Rope: If the rope does not break away from the saddle, or if the rider touches the rope to prevent the breakaway, they are disqualified or penalized with additional time.

Missed Catch: If the loop misses the calf, it is a no-time. A penalty is applied for failed attempts.

Rope Around Any Other Body Part: If the rope catches the calf around a body part other than the neck or head (e.g., around a leg), the run is disqualified.

Violating the Start: If the rider breaks the barrier or starts before the official signal, the rider will receive a 10 second penalty.

3.   EBA Sanctioned Bull Riding

The rider must:
Ride with one hand.
Keep the free hand clear of the bull, rope, and self.
Stay aboard for 8 seconds to receive a score.

Touching the bull, rope, or equipment with the free hand results in a disqualification.

The ride ends when:

8 seconds elapse,

The rider is bucked off,

A rule violation occurs.

The judge has the right to put the rider on the clock if the rider is not ready in the chute. Once the judge has put the rider on the clock, he has 30 seconds to nod. If not, the rider will be disqualified.

Dress Code: Contestants must appear neat, clean and professional. Contestants must wear long sleeve shirts that are collared and have either buttons, snaps or full length zipper on the front of the shirt.  Jeans without holes, western bo boots and western hat must be worn for all rodeo performances and slacks.

Companion Pass: Each contestant will receive one companion pass.

*For all events, the judges decision is FINAL. *
